Origin
This label is a study of asymmetry and textiles.
Lilani came to be in summer ’25 when I first bought a sewing machine and started experimenting with fabric and different forms of handwork and manual embroidery.
Present
Each fabric is developed by hand before it becomes a garment. Rather than applying decoration after construction, patterns are built directly into the textile through hours of manual embroidery, allowing every piece to carry subtle variations unique to its making.
Strings
Not every line needs to be straight. Nature is not made up of straight lines.
Each string is embroidered individually using a manually operated sewing machine. It is a slow, repetitive process where every line is guided by hand, resulting in subtle variations that cannot be replicated exactly.
