I started drawing up my first design after stumbling upon Pikol clothing and i was fascinated by the idea of making something that someone might open up their closet to look at one last time before bed. And i wanted to be completeley involved in the creation of said item… to choose the base, to decide to add on to the base (embroider and applique), to deform and to repair the base (stitching).

Present

I’m gearing up to take a trip to the state of Punjab to meet up with handloom artisans (i will not use this word too much dw). I’ve already been to another part of Pakistan with a rich handloom heritage: Islampur. Islampur however specializes in pashmina wool which is too complex of a fabric for me to work with right now. I’m planning on developing relationships with handloom fabric weavers which will stear the upcoming releases.
