I started drawing up my first design after stumbling upon Pikol clothing and i was fascinated by the idea of making something that someone might open up their closet to look at one last time before bed. And i wanted to be completeley involved in the creation of said item… to choose the base, to decide to add on to the base (embroider and applique), to deform and to repair the base (stitching).
Present
I started working on my first strings piece in August this year (2025). It was perhaps a complete detour from where I started but it was fresh and personal. I finally had something I had made that I wanted to talk about.
Strings
Not every line needs to be straight. Nature is not made up of straight lines. Animals are not. Plants are not.
Each string is an individually embroidered line done by a manually operated sewing machine. It is a slow and repetitive process albeit with problems that can make it even slower.
